Help co-ordinate a real wedding or shadow a successful wedding planner

 

Work experience placements from the Wedding Planning School are available exclusively to our graduates. Once you have completed any of our award-winning and informative courses, you will then have the chance to take part in our work experience programme, either by shadowing an already successful wedding planner or co-ordinating a real-life wedding yourself through the placements offered below.

Getting practical, professional wedding planner work experience is nearly impossible in the wedding planning industry, yet it is one of the most important parts of your training. To give you the best possible start in your career and kick-start your portfolio, The Wedding Planner School guarantees voluntary experience exclusively for our planning course graduates and elite course graduates upon passing their respective course.

Every wedding season we place more than 50 students into wedding planning work experience placements. You will help brides to execute their plans, or shadow a professional wedding planner.

HOW TO BOOK?

1) Choose a specific placement from the list below and make a note of the reference and date. Check that you are available and you understand what is required of you. More get added throughout the year so keep checking every week.

2) Read the terms and conditions on this Voluntary Work Experience Booking Form and Information 2018-2020

​

3) Then email the front desk team at the School to check if your chosen placement is definitely still available and that you are eligible for it. If you need insuring they will help you.

​

4) When advised, complete and return the above form.

​

All placements require insurance which you can arrange yourself or pay a contribution towards a group WPS policy on booking of £60.

​

This is a unique facility available to you for free if you are insured. Be brave, take advantage and put your learning into practice.

Manor House Wedding

 

x1 LEAD AND x2 ASSISTANT PLANNERS REQUIRED FOR A ELEGANT MANOR WEDDING

​

We’re looking for 3 graduates to support a Ghanaian couple in the final planning stages of their wedding at a stunning venue in Bickley, South-East London, with up to 300 guests. The elegant summer celebration blends French blue and pastel pink tones.

 

You’ll assist with supplier research, groom’s attire, logistics, creating a detailed programme, and on-the-day coordination to ensure everything runs smoothly. There will be a mix of venue and online meetings beforehand, and you may help with transport on the day. It’s a fantastic opportunity to gain real experience, build confidence, enjoy a joyful event – and boost your portfolio!

LEAD AND ASSISTANT PLANNER REQUIRED FOR AN AL-FRESCO WEDDING IN SURREY

The bride would like some help with creating and sticking to a budget. Potential theme ideas for outside and props for hire.  She would also like someone to just touch base with to ensure I’m meeting timelines for things.

 

Then before the wedding a meet up to check over things and tie things together and then on the day coordinate suppliers to ensure smooth running.

Calling all graduates! Support a chic and joyful wedding on Saturday 20th September 2025 in Brighton. With a ceremony at Brighton Town Hall and reception at the seafront Seahorse, this black tie-optional event features a timeless blue theme.

You'll assist with:
