How do I book a free wedding planner for my event?
The Wedding Planner School requires engaged couples from all locations across the UK who would like a free consultation or free wedding day co-ordination service to help our newly qualified wedding and event planners get some hands-on work experience. The graduates will be given full guidance and instruction before the placement and we will be on the other end of their phone during the wedding itself. It doesn’t matter if you’re on a tight budget or a minor royal with unlimited resources, our students have helped hundreds of couples in the past and can help you too. Is it completely free for all weddings, parties and other events?
You are not obliged to pay the graduate planners while on work experience placements and they are covered for damages under our employer’s liability insurance. A contribution to travel expenses or a healthy tip is always welcome, but never compulsory. We do ask for a deposit from all couples of £95 to secure their commitment. In the past we have had couples let down the planners or not treat them very nicely, so this helps to encourage polite interaction between all parties. If the placement goes through smoothly, your £95 will be refunded in full upon request, no delays. This refund must be claimed within six calendar months of the wedding, otherwise it goes into funding our work experience programme instead. We hope this is acceptable to you. My husband and I want to thank you and The Wedding Planner School for the absolute best ‘Wedding Dream Team’ any bride could ever have. Katie Matthews, Josephine Jackson and Cheryl Fernandes were amazing. All WPS graduates were asked to come up with an innovative solution for a loose-leaf guest book for 200 guests attending the 100th birthday party of The Queen’s Toastmaster, Harry Poloway, organised by his colleague Bruce Womack. Bruce sent us his special thanks to pass on to Elisa Portelli, Philippa Wheeler and Claire Fernyhough whose suggestions he described as ‘brilliant’ and will be using.

Eleanor and Tami were allocated to work on our wedding with us via the Wedding Planner School in March 2015, ahead of our wedding in August of the same year. After email introductions, we had a face to face meeting and several introductions to get on the same page and start work on the outstanding items. The key things on our agenda were around timings, contingency planning and the overall look and design of the day.
From the first conversations it became clear that Eleanor and Tami were both passionate about wedding planning. They were friendly and approachable, offering ideas and support throughout the whole planning process. They raised things that we wouldn’t have thought of ourselves and were a great sounding board for any enquiries we had, no matter how big or small, and would make the effort to respond to us quickly.
When we were allocated Eleanor and Tami we had already picked all our suppliers. However they were more than happy to work professionally with them in the run up and the day itself. This included agreeing parts of the final package around a set budget on our behalf and confirming timings. In particular they worked closely with our florist and venue decorator to create the overall design and colours for the day, everything came together and looked fantastic on the day.
The look that Eleanor and Tami came up with ended up being a mixture of music (we had met at Reading Festival!) and rustic. To support the theme, Eleanor and Tami spent a lot of time creating a range of bespoke items for us including a unique and great table plan consisting of vinyl records and cassette tapes. They kept us in the loop when they were crafting so we would confirm what we did and didn’t like, which was reassuring! They were also able to accommodate some last minute changes
Eleanor and Tami met arrived at the venue around lunchtime the day before the wedding and worked tirelessly with our florist and venue decorator to get our marquee perfect ahead of the big day, completing the finishing touches the morning of the wedding. They helped to coordinate suppliers throughout the day which included dealing with a power outage! They stayed until after our dance, confirming the evening caterers were set up before leaving. It was great we were able to relax on the day and not be worrying about timings or where we and our guests needed to be.

“My husband and I were so grateful to have Tami and Maureen as our wedding planners – they were fantastic from start to finish. From my first meeting with Tami, I was immediately left with confidence that I could trust and rely on them to co-ordinate our wedding. I’ll have to admit that I was probably a very particular bride! Sarah came to the hotel on the morning of the wedding whilst I was getting dressed and I remember feeling a moment of relief as she arrived because I knew that everything would be under control. Of her own accord, she attended our 2 hour church rehearsal the night before the wedding which to me was the reason why the service went beautifully. “Lucy Howe was an absolute pleasure to work with. From the offset she was ready to get stuck in and constantly reassured me as to how amazing the day was going to be. She’s particularly great with paying attention to detail and arranging décor. She was readily available on the phone whenever I had a quick question or needed her assistance and she was always ready to meet me even though she lived miles away. “Even though I had the least interaction with Rowena Bubb (out of my team of planners), she was extremely pleasant and endearing. My bridesmaids and friends who were helping out on the day were all highly impressed with how hands on she was. “This lady (Carmen Radway) is a God send! She was truly phenomenal. I’ve never worked with someone who is so meticulous, organised, efficient and truly dedicated to her role. In our first conversation, she answered all of my questions and her enthusiasm about my wedding got me even more excited about it! She had already done her research on our venue and I was surprised about how much she knew! During the initial meeting with the team of four planners, she blew me away with and her control of the group -which was much needed as everybody had ideas. Following that, her communication was great and although it was also a busy time for Carmen, she had our wedding under control and all of our concerns were answered without delay. She also helped me to make key decisions regarding décor which we needed as I was often perplexed about what ideas to go with.
The final few days before the wedding were extremely stressful for my husband and me but Carmen was calm and reassured us that things would be okay. At one point the stress was so overwhelming that I ended up crying over the phone to Carmen and she completely helped me to get over my fears. And during another extremely late call with Carmen which lasted over an hour, Carmen helped me to iron our every single detail of the event. Our wedding was huge – almost 300 people and in a venue which was very strict- but Carmen ensured that their guidelines wouldn’t hinder our wedding by going through each policy with the venue and relaying the information to our vendors to ensure no last minute issues arose to stress us further.
On our wedding day there were a few issues but Carmen remained unflappable! She worked hard on very little sleep and the fact that she came all the way to London from Birmingham was just shows her keen dedication to ensuring we got the very best of her service.

“Carmen (Radway) was a ray of sunshine from when I had first spoken to her. She had made me feel very calm and right away relieved a lot of the pressure I had regarding my wedding.
When I met Carmen for the first time, she was happy, cheerful and very organised. She made sure I had everything covered, but also a lot of the smaller details I had not remembered or would need to. Carmen had her list of things that should be organised by time we met and had already decided what she would be doing. This helped immensely and I felt very comfortable with Carmen just being there. “We got married in August 2013 and Jacquie (Chambers) was our wedding planner, she went above and beyond what I ever expected from a wedding planner, she was professional and organised from the start. At the reception we had a few small hiccups and Jacquie trouble shooted and sorted them out taking the stress off me. The DJ had a malfunction with her equipment, Jacquie solved this by using her laptop to play music until the DJ had fixed the problem. Also two guests who had not R.S.V.P turned up and I had nowhere to sit them, I went to Jacquie and straight away she solved the problem. Jacquie made sure the day went to plan and helped to make it wonderful and organised.
I would recommend Jacquie to anyone, she is amazing and helped me so much, I feel I could not have done it without her and she helped to make our wedding the fantastic day it was.

“I met Nic (Boydon) on the day of my wedding she came with Jacquie (my other wedding planner to support her as Jacquie had badly hurt her leg). Not only did Nic make her self available at short notice she was a professional and kind person, she came to meet me before the wedding and helped to ease my nerves and anxiousness. Nic also went to the venue and helped the table decorater and made sure everything was gong to plan. Nic was invaluable at helping on the day, she met me outside the town hall before I was about to get married and explained where I had to go and want I had to do, she also played the entrance and exit wedding music.
Nic waited with us after the ceremony for the wedding car to return, she was calm, in control and very organised. She helped everything run smoothly on our wedding day, Nic was there for help and advice throughout the day and made sure the day went to plan, she trouble shooted any problems that arose (such as two extra guests arriving).

The fact that you were constantly in touch, took over the final supplier contact, met with us at all venues beforehand and even came down the day before to help with the set-up, was massively appreciated. You were a pleasure to work with and put us instantly at ease.
The day wouldn’t have been the same without you and Peter (West) there to organise all and take care of the timings, suppliers, etc. You happily travelled all over the place picking up bags, transferring flowers and generally doing whatever that was needed! I am a perfectionist and was slightly worried leaving the last-minute set-up to other people, but you followed my instructions perfectly and even came up with some quirky ideas that really worked, like the bar letters. Perfect!
I am sure you will be such a successful wedding planner, as you seem to have a real knack for the finer details, are very organised and you are a pleasure to work with, creating a very personal touch throughout.

“We couldn’t afford to spend a few more thousand pounds on a wedding planner but bearing in mind, this was going to be a wedding weekend, with two weddings (a traditional Gujarati wedding and a traditional Church of England wedding as well as the pre-wedding ceremonies), we really needed one. From the time we met Fatima we were impressed – she was organised and understood what we wanted immediately. “Pippa Taylor agreed to help me and was unbelievably flexible on how involved I wanted to be involved and how I wanted her to be involved. One minute I wanted to do everything myself and the next I didn’t have time and needed her help!
